I prefer copper as well and pex is cheaper and easier. It is no news anymore that pex has been widely used in various fields of application, including potable/service water piping, heating systems, insulation technologies, etc. It's more durable than copper for the most part, and fails. I believe copper is better than cpvc at operating in extreme temperatures, but i suspect that is not a problem in georgia.
